What?

stream·ing /ˈstrēmiNG/ adj.- ...(of data) - transmitted in a continuous stream displayed in real-time

What don't we stream anymore? We stream music, videos, we stream games, we have a streamed virtual reality, we stream the minutia of our day over social networks to anyone who cares to watch. Pass that stream through a mind and sometimes new content will be streamed back out. This is my stream...filtered, edited and often heavily buffered, but mine nonetheless.

Obstinately, this is my shingle over the door, an advertisement to the rest of the world: "Hi, I've got skills! I like plying them for disposable income!" As life and plans don't always intersect neatly, it alternately collects dust, works in progress, thoughtful musings and the occasional "under construction" sign.

Who?

elle /ɛl/ 1. French female pronoun. 2. The current stage of evolution of a series of on-line handles belonging to one Jamie Brewer (whom is not at all French), and a subtle reminder that yes, there are girls on the Internet/in the field of tech/in games and gaming.

I'm a product of the second digital generation - young enough to have been unborn while two guys named Steve were starting a revolution in their garage, old enough to remember the days before the Internet took over the world. But when it did take over in my pre-teens I caught the wave and have ridden it ever since.

In the process, I've watched virtual worlds evolve from text on a screen to 3d vistas. I've gone from the colored-pencil fan-art of childhood to, if I may say so, original stuff that's actually pretty decent. I found games were not just that endless loop of beeps and bloops that the boys at my babysitter's house hogged all the time, but potential mediums for rich stories, and gameplay, the art of fun, an intriguing field in and of itself.

I'm still a work in progress. Hang on for the ride.
